Set 1: Graphs & Patterns...
Set 2: Coins...
The Bundle...
Here's a sample of what you'll find in Set 1: Graphs & Patterns...
Two versions of Find, Tally & Graph for each set of words...
A few versions to practice graphing & patterns:
Note that the piece of clip art is the same on both versions to indicate that the same words are used on the corresponding sheets...this helps you organize easily and provides extra practice with each set of words!
Full size & Quarter-Page size Answer Keys depending on how you plan to use them...
Curious about which words are used?
Set 2: Coins uses the SAME words as in Set 1, but arranged in groups of six words instead of four. This set includes mixed coin counting practice...
PS...Blogger is being a SaSsAfRaS and I'm not sure why the following page pics look a little gray...I promise they are perfectly fine on the actual pages!
There are three different coin combinations...you can see which coins are used next to the title on each page.
Answer Keys come in both Full & Quarter Page...
Wowzers...thanks for sticking with me! Here's a freebie for you to enjoy - Roll A Word & Roll A Chunk...click either pic to download. :)
I would love to hear how you help your kiddos master their sight words...
I have both of these! They are awesome and the kids love them! But then anything you do is great! Love you ideas and creativity! :)
ReplyDeleteAwwww, thank you SO much!!!!
DeleteWow! I really like these activities. I think my favourite is the graphing activity that includes questions about the graph. What a great way to combine language and math. I'm liking the pattern pages too. Idea - maybe the pattern words could be in different colours or word sizes for some pages - or even change the position of the words. This could add a second attribute to their patterning! Fantastic ideas!
ReplyDeleteI also should have added that I use codes to do sight words - I assign a number to a letter and the kids have to figure out the word. They love that!
ReplyDeleteThese all look so fabulous! Anything that give the kids more exposure to sight words! We use words their way to help kids with their reading and word patterns, I am willing to use anything that interests the kids :)
ReplyDeleteI love how you are incorporating math - graphing - with sight word activities!!
ReplyDeleteBy second my students generally have the sight words mastered. Generally...although there are always some who are tripped up on the 'easy' words so this would be perfect review for them!
ReplyDeleteThis is so great. We use magnetic letters, colored pens and markers to write them, and buddy study..
ReplyDeleteWe master our sight words through constant repetition...CONSTANT!!!
ReplyDeleteI pad games and flashcards for us :)

What a great idea! I love the sight word math! I think it will really help my 1st graders I have this year!!
ReplyDeleteWhat I do is write the sight words on the dry erase board 2 different times. I put the kids into two different teams and give them a fly swatter and the first student to swat the correct word earns a point for their team.
DeleteWe make sight word flash cards. Boring, I know.

I love these! The questions and coin counting add a great challenge. These are going on my wish list just in case I don't win! Each week I write our new words on hand shaped die cuts and stick them in high traffic areas in the room. The kids read them and then high-five them. It never gets old for them.
ReplyDeleteThe kids see the words spelled out on the ipad and they trace it with their fingers and/or pen on a laminated sentence strip.
ReplyDeleteThese are absolutely adorable! I wish I had a class to use them on!! I can't wait to use all the fun activities you teachers have put together!
ReplyDeleteThese look great. Some of the activities my students do to master their sight words are: go fish, memory match, stamp the words, spell/read them with magnets and roll & read (they love this one).

ReplyDeleteThis packet looks great :)
ReplyDeleteIn my classroom we have them on a board and review every week. I also give a spelling test on sight words every week. This way they are constantly practicing them. I pick two random from the weeks before.
Have been trying to fit this in the budget, but having the youngest in college and old vehicles it never works out.
ReplyDeleteI love the unique way you mix sight words with math skills!
ReplyDeleteWe use magnetic letters, playdoh, songs (HeidiSongs ROCKS!), flashcards, and crafts. They are so excited when they put the words together in sentences!!!

I use magnetic letters, white boards and other crafts. They are doing so well trying to write and read their sight words.
ReplyDeleteI use flash cards and we play Around the World!
ReplyDeleterachelmd93@gmail.com
Games, games, and more games! Anyway to get them practicing over and over in a fun way. I am loving all the one's you have above!
ReplyDeleteAs always I love your things! For sight words I have a word wall, my strugglers take word cards home and keep a set in their private reading bags. We also stamps, use whiteboards, pipe cleaners, and more!
ReplyDeleteThis will be great for workstations!!! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThese are FAN-TAS-TIC, Lisa! I love the math and reading combination...genius!! Counting coins and look alike words are both so tricky for some of my second graders!

This is an awesome idea. I love how this works. I like to play "popcorn" or "skunked " games with the sight words in small groups. My kids also like to play teacher in stations with them. I also like to out try's phrases on a power point for them to practice.
ReplyDeleteI use a word wall, flash cards, and games to teach sight words.

Wow this looks great! I have acquired some things over the years to teach sight words. We do a lot of sight word activities during our Word Work rotation. They use them in sentences, rainbow write them, write them in ABC order, use sight word flash cards, sight word bingo, etc.
ReplyDeleteI teach sight words w/ pictures/symbols for my students w/ ieps. I also do lots of hand-on practice activities: stamping, lego letters, unifix letters, magnetic tile letters, etc. dbednarsk@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteI use sight word games, flash cards, and have them write them all the time on any writing assignment or by practicing them on their whiteboards.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to combine sight words with math and kill 2 birds with 1 stone. a great review.
ReplyDeleteTo teach sight words I have the students locate the words in a word book that we keep, we use lots of different voices and movements, and play games. We also do some word hunt/graphing activities and they practice writing them in many different ways.
ReplyDeleteYour packs look AMAZING!! I really love the coin set to allow students more opportunities to practice their money counting skills!

I use word searches, fluency sheets, white boards, letter building and just plan old flash cards. Anything that will work. I have used sand trays as well.
ReplyDeletecbartram@kitcarsonschool.com
I have a station for my kids to use the sight words to build addition sentences They count vowels and then consonants in the word and create a number sentence.
ReplyDeleteWell obviously I need your packets...... :o) I have a sight word list that goes home as homework ~ parents sign when the child is ready to be tested. If they pass, they're given a new list to study. Your way looks a lot more fun...... :o)

Oh, heavens! This looks stupendous!! You are so creative, Lisa!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome way to incorporate sight words in other curriculum areas! I just love these and the kids will to. We do sight word chants, sight word passwords of the day, and a sight word book. But these would make learning them so much better!!
ReplyDeleteYou create some amazing packets. You WOW me each time :)

ReplyDeleteI LOVE the sight word graphs !!! My students loved these when we did the ones in the Common Core Crunch packet!! So happy to see math packets!!!!
ReplyDeleteI use lots of games and flashcards. We also use them as bonus spelling words.
ReplyDeleteWe practice practice practice! Using good fit books. Highlighter tape, IPad games, hands on repetition

These activities are wonderful and I love how they combine the skill of counting coins with identifying sight words! One of our favorite word games is "Sight Word Derby" where students race their sight words across the page as they roll a dice and write them as quickly as they can. They get so excited when their word wins!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely LOVE these sight word activities. I am always looking for new ways for my kids to practice their sight words. I just wished you had the money in CANADIAN coin as well and had a document that can be changed on my end for words that we are studying. Thanks for all your hard work.
