Are you looking to raise the rigor and increase the fun with your little readers? You might want to introduce them to the S.T.A.R. Readers...

Then, you can work with them to set goals while they Build the Habits of S.T.A.R. Readers.

This pack isn't really a can be the underlying foundation/overarching umbrella to your entire reading instruction.

  9. This looks like a great packet! I have been looking for something else to add to our reading routine, and I think this might be just what I was looking for! We currently use the Treasures program and my class does Daily 5.

  13. We use Houghton Mifflin, and I am quite disappointed in it. :( In my previous school, we used Scott Foresman Reading Street. I was even more disappointed in that. I would much prefer using real literature and teaching children how to READ rather than how to call words. :)

  18. We use the OLD 2001 ed. of Harcourt Collections.
    We desperately need an updated version.
    Our district adopted the Daily 5 and CAFE framework this year. That is what inspired me to build the CRITTER CAFE much like your STAR!
    Would LOVE to add your unit to my growing collection!

  19. We use Reading Street 2008 but are up for adoption this year. Not sure if we're going to go with something else or not.

    This is such a cute way to encourage reading!

    We write our own reading and writing maps at my school and most of us follow the workshop model when executing the lessons--this is lots and lots of work, especially when we need to find materials!
